  • Gateway Invalid argument error

    This donor made a $20 donation plus the cc fee of .38c. Only the 38c went through 36448-2201221820169736802.
    This one had the gateway invalid argument error with $0 amount. 36448-2201221815336706802 The donor is wondering what happened to her $20 transaction? Thanks

    Good day @mjokiman

    I just had a look and noticed the above two order numbers processed from the FaaS form which doesn't have validation on the "Other" field which is causing the decline with $0 or processing with only cc fee.

    However, I have forwarded it to our developers to see what more they can find in your form.

      Good day @mjokiman

      We found that your FaaS form is submitting the donations with a CC fee only when you select the "Other" amount field with empty value and check the box for "I would like to cover the credit card fees associated with my gift." it is taking a value of 38cents as CC processing fee and posting to API.

      We found that you are validating the UnitPrice1 field but not the Other Amount text field, that is the reason the users can submit the form when they click on "I would like to cover the credit card fees associated with my gift."

      Please review the form and block the submission in the above case, and validate the "Other" amount field to avoid the above issue.

        Here's another transaction where only the credit card fee was processed 36448-2202221526111413089. Will you be able to let me know if the donor attempted to make a larger donation and if that larger amount was processed or not? We just need to confirm with the donor that the larger amount didn't go through. Thanks.

          Here is what we show posted to the API

          <OrderItemList>
          <OrderItem>
          <ItemID>1</ItemID>
          <ItemName>Donation</ItemName>
          <Quantity>1</Quantity>
          <UnitPrice>38</UnitPrice>
          <UnitDeductible>38</UnitDeductible>
          <UnitTax>0</UnitTax>
          <UnitDiscount>0</UnitDiscount>
          <SKU>DON</SKU>
          <Campaign />
          </OrderItem>
          </OrderItemList>

          For Ordernumber": 36448-2202221526111413089

          As you see the order included ONLY one item which is 38 pennies.

          Please note that this is a FAAS form and one that is custom made and not one we have done. May I ask what form you are using? The form is NOT posting anything other than one line item.

            Thank you for the quick response. I really appreciate it. I've brought this issue up to our agency that created the form.

              You may want to suggest that they put the form in TEST mode and test it with all browsers and configurations. Naturally there is a bug in the form.
