  • Campaign SKU

    We have existing C&P campaigns that are being directed to SF campaigns. Normally, I would just update the SF campaign in the C&P campaign details, but am now seeing that is not an option and that we have to use campaign SKUs instead. I just want to confirm that this means that I am going to have to recreate all the existing campaigns in order to redirect them in SF as that is a lot of work.

    Hi Jennifer

    This is now a lot easier than it was before.

    The CONNECT platform required you to have Salesforce Campaign statically assigned to each campaign and then in SF you had to go and create the campaign and map them one to one.

    With the new system we are taking advantage of the success of ITEM SKU and give you the ability to create Campaign SKU and simply point them to any campaign you want. If a change is needed you simply change the map and no need to go everywhere in CONNECT and make the changes.

    Before we had:
    • Salesforce Campaign setting in each campaign
    • Salesforce Campaign setting in each form
    Clients were constantly getting confused with what is going on with CONNECT campaign, form campaign and transaction campaign.

    Tomorrow, January 19, we will be releasing the new Salesforce app where it will have the Campaign SKU and Form SKU also provisions for TEAMS and Fundraisers. The release was delayed due a last minute bug that was reported by a tester. It was scheduled to be released yesterday but had to be pulled out of appExchange at the last minute.

    Of course our system is backward compatible so none of your existing settings will be changed

    Please let us know if we can be of more help. Also make sure to put a request for upgrade in the Upgrade channel so we update your instance as soon as the release is public.

      But, again, if I have widgets for existing C&P campaigns on our website, those will have to be replaced with new ones for new C&P campaigns because I can't change the SF info nor delete it so as to use SKUs instead, correct?

        Here is what I suggest:
        1. Keep the widgets - no need to delete them.
        2. In Tomorrow's release in Salesforce go to the Setting and map the Campaign SKU to your campaign in Salesforce.
        3. Go the CONNECT campaign and add the Campaign SKU
        4. You are done.
        Now any campaign with the same SKU will always be mapped to the same Salesforce campaign.

            So the campaign SKU will override the information in the existing SF campaign details on the C&P campaign?

              @Jennifer,

              We blocked this to avoid confusion by clients as we had no choice. Here is what will happen tomorrow.
              1. Your existing campaigns will work and nothing changes if you don't do anything. 100% backward compatible and all work as before.
              2. If you choose to use Campaign SKU you will see a message stating that Salesforce campaign information will be deleted - please click to confirm.
              3. Once confirmed the Salesforce campaign will be deleted and SKU will be saved.
              We are allowing only Campaign SKU or Salesforce campaign to be included when a transaction posts to avoid confusion in Salesforce.

              So the answer to your question is YES: The Campaign SKU will post to Salesforce and the Salesforce Campaign in CONNECT will be removed. Once you save Campaign SKU the menu will also disappear.
