  • Salesforce not reporting transaction fee opportunity on one particular transaction

There's a Transaction that is not creating an opportunity for the transaction fees that were paid by the donor. Link to transaction is found here: https://usacyclingfoundation.lightni...YXRlIjp7fX0%3D

The associated opportunity for this transaction is: https://usacyclingfoundation.lightni...21jIcXAAU/view

There should be another opportunity showing the transaction fee but the system will not create one.

Based on the above settings, the opportunity will be created. You need to check the box for the "Convenience Fee" to create a sperate opportunity.

Did something change ? Because all other transaction fees are getting a new opportunity, even transaction fees that were paid after the transaction noted above. I did not change any settings on my end, it just seems to not work for this one transaction.

Ah, by reviewing the transactions before and after the above noted one, it looks like you are confused about the convenience fee and additional fee in Connect. Please note that the Connect "Additional Fee" is NOT the same as the "Convenience Fee" in Salesforce. In Connect the "Additional fee" is an item. The "Additional Fee" coming in Salesforce is not an optional opportunity but a separate line item resulting in a separate opportunity by design and that is the reason it creates the opportunity though the Convenience Fee is unchecked under C&P Settings > Opportunity.

The transaction you noted above is done from Salesforce VT and it has Convenience Fee hence it required to check the box for the "Convenience Fee" under C&P Settings > Opportunity to create a sperate opportunity.

        Hope that makes sense.

That makes sense, and I re-posted and it is now appearing as an opportunity. Where do I set up a SKU for the VT Convenience fee? Since it is not technically an item, I cannot find where to do that in VT Settings. I need the convenience fee settings in VT to be the same as the additional fee settings in Connect. Does that makes sense?

            Good day @kuhlemann

Sorry, as of now, we don't have an option to assign the SKU to the convenience fee.

Is there another way to ensure the convenience fee is mapping? I have rules set up based on SKU's to assign Campaigns and General Allocation Units to each opportunity. Connect has allowed me to map the additional fee because I can create a SKU, but if I cannot create a SKU for the Convenience fee there must be another way to ensure proper mapping..

You can accomplish the above using Workflow or Process Builder. We have Opportunity Type fields: If Opportunity Type - Convenience Fee then you can accomplish it using workflow or process builder.

                Hope that helps.
