  • Custom questions not passing to Salesforce

We are using a C&P Connect form. In custom questions, we have added a hidden section with a custom picklist "Direct my gift to:" with one value "Operation School Bell:, The field is marked as mandatory, and the default value is selected. We have a field in Salesforce "Restricted To" and want to pass the value. The custom field is not being passed. I viewed the Transaction and it does not show up in Custom Parameters.. We have mapped it in the form and in Salesforce. How can you pass a value to Salesforce without having the donor see it?

    Good day @[email protected]

Would you please grant us login access to your Salesforce instance and share the order number as well as the form link you are referring to so that we can review it?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

We are unable to locate your organization with the above orgID. Would you please recheck the Organization ID? We noticed that your account#39549 is having the shared connection which is not connected to SF.

I gave the Hub ID by mistake. The org id is 00D1a000000YfXh. 39549 is connected to Salesforce via 33593.
          Thanks,
          Nancy

            Nancy,

I confirmed that there is no way to pass values of hidden questions using the form. I know you were not keen on the idea of using a SKU, but it would at least be a way of knowing that the transaction came from that Campaign, and you could set up a rule in Custom Mapping > SKU to get the field mapped the way you want. Unfortunately, adding the SKU suffix to the hidden question is also not passed along, so you would need to assign the SKU to the items under Campaign Details > Payment Details.

I have passed the issue along to the team, so they can review and decide how to address this behavior.

              Amanda,
We are using SKUs to determine the record type and have linked the Campaign. This is another field that we would like to pass. With 120 chapters that could potentially use the system each having 10 or more choices, I don't want to use SKUs for this field.

I don't see any value in having a Hidden Section if you can't pass the custom questions that are in it. What is the purpose of Hidden Sections?

              Thanks for your assistance,
              Nancy

                Good day @[email protected]

As of now, the hidden option is to hide the custom question from the form and we are not passing it through to Salesforce. However, I have forwarded to our developers to brainstorm and see the possibilities to pass the hidden custom questions to SF in upcoming releases.
