A recurring donation set was tied to a credit card belonging to a SF admin using C&P for their org's instance. The card was successfully getting ran each month. In May of 2019 some fraudulent activity occurred on the card (unrelated to this org or C&P) so the credit card company closed that card out and gave a new card. The card owner does not remember if they updated their card info on the recurring record in SF. But the recurring record reflects the old cancelled card number. The recurring record still produced successful donations until September 2019 when it was finally declined. The recurring record still reflects the old card number. The card owner sees the recent transactions from may until August on their statement under the new credit card number.
Is it possible for a credit card that has been canceled to still produce successful transactions for a short time when it's being referenced monthly by a payment processor?
