  • Opportunity not created for transaction

    Hi there,

    We had a donor purchase tickets for an event through our website. The charge went through and is showing up in C&P as Authorized and Posted to Salesforce. In Salesforce, I can see the transaction record but it appears that no opportunity was generated. I've re-established the connection and tried reposting the transaction twice and it did not make a difference (I can see that it generated new C&P data records but did not create an opportunity).

    Would you be able to look into this? Should we create the opportunity manually or will it eventually get posted, causing a duplication? The order ID is 31538-1906232217479482203 and I have granted access (C&P account 31538, Salesforce org ID 00D1I000003nBD4). Thanks!

      Thanks so much! My apologies, I found one more transaction where an opportunity was not created (I ran a Salesforce report on C&P transactions without donations, so there shouldn't be any other ones). The order ID is 31538-1906101840494731084. Could you create the opportunity for that one as well? I have extended login access. Thanks!

          Thank you! I had another transaction come in this morning without an opportunity being created. Is there a way for me to attempt to re-post this myself? The order number is 31538-1908081116261443007 and I have granted login access if you are able to take a look. Thanks so much for your help!

            Good day @jilliann

            The reason for not creating the opportunity because the data is ended up with the following error in C&P Data: "Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: UNABLE_TO_LOCK_ROW, unable to obtain exclusive access...."

            The reason for the above error is updating of record in the asynchronous form. In other words, the objects were busy when we were trying to insert the data. We simply reposted the data and it fixed it. It's about timing.

            However, you no need to worry about such errors. For these very reasons, we have the feature included in C&P Settings called Self Healing under Maintenence which will automatically resolve such errors. We suggest you enabled it and get rid of the above errors.
