  • URL Tracking in Widgets?

    Hi there,

My org sends out emails with "donate" buttons in, that direct would-be donors to our C&P widget on our website (www.transgenderlawcenter.org/donate). I want to add URL tracking, so we can see which emails generate the most donations. I found your support article on URL tracking using the "tracker" field on C&P forms, but is there a way to do this when the form is embedded on our website rather than using it's original C&P URL (which has no branded wrapper/links to the rest of our website etc) ? Or, if no, is there some kind of work-around I can do to track that same information somehow using the embedded widget?

    Thanks

    Good day @jackdunn

Yes, you can do it by including the URL parameter under data-guid="" attribute which you already used on your page:

    You have already:

    <script class="CnP_formloader" src="https://resources.connect.clickandpledge.com/Library/iframe-1.0.0.min.js" data-guid="fe49a80e-4ff6-4a9e-b12f-eb64243bd9ae"></script>

You have to append the parameters after the data-guid as shown below:

    <script class="CnP_formloader" src="https://resources.connect.clickandpledge.com/Library/iframe-1.0.0.min.js" data-guid="fe49a80e-4ff6-4a9e-b12f-eb64243bd9ae?urlparameter1=test&urlparameter2=test2"></script>

    Hope it will help.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

I'm afraid you've lost me a bit. Where abouts on the widget setup would I find/edit the Data Guide attribute you're referring to?

      I looked in: C&P Connect - Campaigns - Donate2017 - Widget - "get code"

But I couldn't see the "data guide" attribute you're referring to. Am I looking in the wrong place? Could you talk me through the steps on finding this "Data guide" attribute?

      Thanks,
      Jack

The form in the question is Connect form NOT widget and you will find the above script in Connect >> Campaign >> Forms >> there you will see the get code option as shown in the below image:
