  • Question on setting up new Salesforce Instance with existing C&P Account

    Hello - I have a client who has been using C&P for around a year, but just set up Salesforce. I have set up everything in Salesforce and I'm wondering whether you have any sort of tool to get all of the existing C&P records into SF short of going in and posting them individually. The account number is 39195 and the SF company is 00D0b000000wvnt. I have given you access.

    We can post all transactions with a click. Do you want us to post all the organization's transactions from start of their account with C&P posted to their connected Salesforce instance?

    The account shows transactions starting on 9/19/2018 up to yesterday 10/9/2018

    Do you want all these posted? If so - do you want us to post with SEND AUTORESPONDER set to SEND or should we disable the Autoresponder? of course if you have not set up any autoresponders it will not matter.

      That's awesome. Let me check a couple of things and I'll get right back to you. There are some that are already posted, so it will only be the unposted ones (which I think are just the last couple weeks). Before doing that, should I set the contact matching to Automatic so that it sets up new contacts and accounts for all of the transactions rather than putting through Temporary Contacts?

        OK - I think its ready. I have a couple questions. Can you let me know about these before you do the update?
        - Should I have it set to Automatic Contact Matching?
        - Can you post only the Unposted Transactions?
        - Will your update also set up the Recurring gift information in SF?
        - Please turn off Autoresponders for this transfer
        - I have the Record Type set up in Salesforce to use Individual for these donations. Will it pick that up?
        - I have the Opportunity setup so that if there is no SKU, it will go to 18-Unsolicited. Will it pick that up and put it in the right opportunity just like it does in normal processing?

        I think that's it. I just want to be sure I know what's going to happen when everything comes over. Let me know the answers to these and I can give you the go-ahead.

          Replies to your questions:

          - Should I have it set to Automatic Contact Matching? -- not sure it matters as there are not many transactions.
          - Can you post only the Unposted Transactions? - Yes- we can post only the unposted ones.
          - Will your update also set up the Recurring gift information in SF? -- we set and update the C&P recurring. It will act just like the original post.
          - Please turn off Autoresponders for this transfer: OK
          - I have the Record Type set up in Salesforce to use Individual for these donations. Will it pick that up? -- depending on the SKU setting. As stated it is just like the regular post.
          - I have the Opportunity setup so that if there is no SKU, it will go to 18-Unsolicited. Will it pick that up and put it in the right opportunity just like it does in normal processing? -- Just like the normal post.

                    I'm in the transactions and everything older than 9/19/18 is showing as not posted and there are currently only about 30 transactions posted into Salesforce, which lines up with the ones that are showing as posted in Connect.

                        Sorry I was looking at the wrong screen. You are right.. there are a lot that are not posted. I was looking at the ones that have been transacted since the connection but not the ones that were there already before the Salesforce connection.

                        We are posting them now.. and setting the Autoresponder flag to DO NOT SEND.

                        Soon you will start seeing them come in.

                              OK - we have a fairly large problem with this. as it has created a new contact and household for every donation. So, now there are very large numbers of duplicates. Do you have a tool to fix that, or do I have to go in and merge them all? Can the upload be reversed and start over?
