This is a simple upgrade. Simply login to your Salesforce instance and click on the link. You will be taken to the install page.
This version has a number of features designed for NPSP. Make sure to disable the Create Account in C&P Settings. We also account for a number of peculiarities in NPSP in this release.
Please install and let us know how it works for you. So far we have had great success with this with no complaints of random NPSP behavior.

Thank you! What are the installation instructions? Does the currently installed version need to be uninstalled or will this serve as an update? How do we fix the problems caused by all Accounts being created as Organization Contacts instead of Household Contacts?

4.11 was released earlier this week. The latest release is always available in the thread set for this purpose.

If you go one level up this thread you will see a sticky thread that says Latest Release Features & Alerts. That thread always has the latest link until the appExchange comes live.

Jeff,
With NPSP, under certain settings, a conflict with Account / Contact may exist. A release is due out on Tuesday that will have special settings for NPSP that will resolve the potential conflict between how we treat a contact and how NPSP handles it.
Version 4.7 is due out on Tuesday December 20.

Contact/Account creation with transaction
Hi,
When a transaction is processed, a new contact and account are being created. My understanding is that if the email address already exists in Salesforce, then that is the contact that receives the transaction. What are the other triggers for a new contact being created? The other problem is that when the account gets created, it is an organization account and not a household account. The default for Salesforce is that any contact with a first and last name will be created in a household account.
