  • Temporary Contact - Select Contact doesn't list the existing record

    Hi, I'm trying to select an existing contact record so it can be matched with a record that's on the Temporary contact. However, when I typed in the donor's name on the "Select Contact" field, the existing record isn't one of the records that's listed. Perhaps this is a common name and we have many records with the same name. How can I matched this Temporary contact with the existing contact record if it's not on the list?

        In this case, you will need to type the exact name for now. Hopefully, in the upcoming releases, we are going to remove the limit to list the contacts.

          Hi, I did type in the same exact name. In fact, the existing record has a middle name, so I tried searching by including the middle name, nothing came up.

              When I chose create a new contact, thinking I'll just merge it later, I got this message: Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: DUPLICATES_DETECTED, You're creating a duplicate record. We recommend you use an existing record instead.: []---337-------(CnP_PaaS)

                The existing contact you are looking for already exists in the list of Attach to Existing Contact/Account:

                Regarding the error, you have a duplicate matching rule at SF settings, you may need to remove that and try to create a new contact.

                  Hi, i have another example where I don't see the existing record is not on the list of Attach to Existing contact/account here's the order number 36448-1810051221258373933 I double check and triple check it's not on the list, and it's also not on the list when i typed the name on the select contact

                        We had discussed this in the development meeting and finally released the patch to address the above issue. We have included the option to search the contact with ContactID and also it will list the last modified as the top suggestions.

                        If you allow us we will upgrade your instance with the patch.

                            This is one of those situations that is beyond our control. Salesforce is going through an update on all instances upgrading to Winter 2019. Unfortunately our release instance (the instance where we develop the app) has been upgraded to Winter 2019 but your instance is still in 2018 release. The fact that our instance is on a different version than yours makes upgrading your instance not possible at this time.

                            The app released is now requiring Winter 2019 version and until your instance is on the same version we are a bit stuck. Your instance is scheduled to be updated October 13. We have marked the calendar and will update you the weekend of 13th.
