After the C&P update in Feb, some gifts have been going to a wrong Account.

Hi,

I requested C&P update in Feb, and since then, I see some C&P gifts have been going to the Individual account, which we don't use anymore. Instead, all the gifts should have been gone to their own household account.

Why do you think this happened? Is it C&P or my issue?

We reviewed and found that the above transaction is Recurring and if you notice initially the Account for above recurring is Individual:

Master Recurring Transaction:


In our earlier versions, we use to update the Account for recurring installment with the Account associated with Contact but later the behavior has been changed. Many of our customers were changing the Account at Contact and see inconsistencies in Account at Recurring records. To avoid that we are assigning the Account associated with Master Recurring Transaction and Recurring Record: https://cnp-paas.na72.visual.force.c...2000006oVV3AAM

If you let us know the Account name you would like to change for above recurring so that we will update it for you.

I am not sure if I am following what you are explaining perfectly, but I would like the recurring transaction's Account to be the account of the contact. For this Ann's example, the Account should be her household account, and not the Individual account.

If you let us know the Account name you would like to change for above recurring so that we will update it for you.

We have many transactions assigned to Individual recently after the C&P update. I would like all of them to be fixed.
1) Do we have to modify all the existing master recurring records that have Individual for Account?
2) Next month's transactions will be automatically assigned to Contact's household account? Or will they assigned to Individual account?

I have discussed this with our developers and they have concluded that it needs to change the Account name in Recuring record NOT at Master Recurring transaction BUT unfortunately, we don't have that option in the current system. Hopefully, in the next update, we will include that option.

If you list the recurring records + account names here we will update it for you so that moving forward it will assign the account accordingly.

It is not a bug but a feature to edit the account in the Recurring record which we considered to include in the upcoming release. As stated above in our earlier versions, we use to update the Account for recurring installment with the Account associated with Contact but later the behavior has been changed.

However, we have updated all of those recurring records with the accounts as mentioned in the file. Moving forward all future installments will appear with the correct account but for existing installments transactions, you will need to update them manually.
