  • Clarification for a $0 receipt

    Hey,

    I recently used the virtual terminal to set up a recurring gift that will start on January 15th (per request from the donor). After setting that up an automatic receipt was sent with a total charge of $0. I think this is because the transaction went through (credit card was approved, etc.) but it showed $0 because I set the date for the future. It was set up as recurring, so I'm assuming that starting on the 15th, the credit card will actually be processed and a receipt with the actual monthly total will be produced.

    This was an odd and infrequent occurrence, but just wanted to make sure my understanding of the situation was correct.

    Yes, you are correct. Since it is Pre-Authozied, the actual transaction will be processed on that date and the receipt with the respective amount.
