  • Mapping Donation Form to Salesforce Campaign

    Hi,

In our instance we have FY18 Appeal Donation Forms campaign where in it we have multiple forms. The Parent campaign for FY18 Appeal Donation Form is FY18 Website Online Giving (this was set up to FY17 Website Online giving as of yesterday but we updated it to FY18). We have a donor who gave to C&P Form Name 29226 - Urgent e-appeal 17.08 and URL Referrer is https://urm.org/urgentneed/ , here's the order number: 36448-1708241444524268469 . This donation synced to the correct Salesforce campaign that we indicated in the Form Builder, Salesforce Settings, campaign name: 17.08 General Appeal September 30 Urgent.

However, this donation 36448-1708281414054616808 was also made via C&P Form Name 29226 - Urgent e-appeal 17.08 and URL Referrer is https://urm.org/urgentneed/ same as above. But the Salesforce campaign that's associated with the donation is: FY17 Website online giving. Why is there 2 donations made via the same donation form but they're associated to different Salesforce Campaigns?

Another situation: This donation 36448-1708300122197172009 was made via a donation form that we cloned from above: C&P 29226 - Urgent e-appeal 17.08 - native,URL Referrer https://urm.org/urgentneed1/ and this donation 36448-1708281132506650686 was made via C&P Form name that we also cloned from above: 29226 - Urgent e-appeal 17.08 - FB, URM Referrer: https://urm.org/urgentneed2/ . Both of these donations are associated with FY17 Website Online Giving even though in the Form Builder under Salesforce Settings we had put 17.08 General Appeal September 30 Urgent.
We created duplicate forms to track revenue to specific media channels, i.e. website, Facebook, email link....

Another example: this donation: 36448-1708301657172308917 was made via C&P Form Name: 28872 - Thanks Giving and URL Referrer: https://urm.org/n/kickoff/ , which is within the FY18 Appeal Donation Forms Connect Campaign. The donation is associated with FY17 Website Online Giving instead of the one that we had specified in the Form Builder, Salesforce settings: 17.09 General Appeal Countdown to TG Online.

What are we missing to make sure that the donations are mapped to the correct Salesforce campaign that we have specified in the Form Builder?

    Thank you!

Support access has been granted. Thanks

      Good day @mjokiman

We reviewed and found that you have assigned the Salesforce Campaign at Form Builder due to which the transaction assigned to this Campaign: 17.08 General Appeal September 30 Urgent for the following order#36448-1708241444524268469: (SKU didn't matched for Primary Campaign Source)

And for following order#36448-1708281414054616808 the SKU matched and due to which the Primary Campaign Source has been assigned though there is a Salesforce Campaign under Form builder:

      C&P Data for order#36448-1708281414054616808

The same thing happened with the all remaining order numbers you have mentioned above. Based on SKU mapping the primary campaign source has been assigned.

Hope that helps. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Actually, I don't understand. The screenshot you showed above, for order 36448-1708281414054616808 is for a donation that's associated with the wrong campaign. This is what I wrote in regards to this order number: Another situation: This donation 36448-1708300122197172009 was made via a donation form that we cloned from above: C&P 29226 - Urgent e-appeal 17.08 - native,URL Referrer https://urm.org/urgentneed1/ and this donation 36448-1708281132506650686 was made via C&P Form name that we also cloned from above: 29226 - Urgent e-appeal 17.08 - FB, URM Referrer: https://urm.org/urgentneed2/ . Both of these donations are associated with FY17 Website Online Giving even though in the Form Builder under Salesforce Settings we had put 17.08 General Appeal September 30 Urgent.

This is the one that's correct: : 36448-1708241444524268469 . This donation synced to the correct Salesforce campaign that we indicated in the Form Builder, Salesforce Settings, campaign name: 17.08 General Appeal September 30 Urgent. Since you brought up SKU, this one that does have the correct SF campaign, has the SKU: DONSingleMEM

What we want is for donations that we've mapped to a specific SF campaign in the Form Builder, to be associated with that campaign. Regardless of the SKU. Hope this helps.

        Thanks, Monica

          Good day @mjokiman

Please note that the opportunity will get assigned to the Campaign based on the following settings and priority:

          1. Custom Mapping: It will check the Custom Mapping (Custom Questions Mapping, SKU Mapping) if condition satisfy, it will assign the Opportunity to the respective Campaign defined in Custom Question Mapping.

          2. Primary Campaign Source: If SKU matched, the Opportunity will get assigned to the respective Campaign.

          3. Item Campaign: If above both didn't matched then it will assign the Opportunity to Item Campaign.

          4. Last Priority: Transaction Campaign: If above all didn't match and Item Campaign is blank, in this case we assign the Opportunity to Transaction Campaign.

In your case SKU condition is matched (DonSingle) with Primary Campaign Source as you see in the screen shot attached in our previous post.

Based on the above priority, for the following order numbers: 36448-1708281414054616808, 36448-1708300122197172009 and 1708281132506650686 Primary Campaign Source has been assigned because the SKU matched with Primary Campaign Source: FY17 Website Online Giving

The correct order number which you are referring to having the SKU: DONSingleMem. Please note that this SKU is the combination of the following SKU's defined in the following places: Item SKU (Under campaign details >> Payment details >> Amount SKU) + Recurring SKU (Onetime, Weekly..etc) + Custom Question SKU.

Hope that explains. Please check and let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Ok, thanks for the explanation of the priority. That helps. However, I still need help addressing the issue: What we want is for donations that we've mapped to a specific SF campaign in the Form Builder, to be associated with that campaign. Regardless of the SKU.

What do we need to do to accomplish this? We actually don't use SKU, so if we need to get rid of the SKUs above, we can. We map every single donation form to a Salesforce Campaign. This is our priority. How do we make this happen?

            Thanks

              Good day @mjokiman

You may need to change the SKU of Primary Campaign Source OR remove the Primary Campaign Source from C&P Settings (if not needed) to accomplish above.

If I change the condition to "If SKU is blank" , will that cause any problems? Since there should not be any transactions with a blank SKU, since it's a required field. And all of our donation forms are mapped to a specific Salesforce campaign, so in theory if i change to "If SKU is blank", no transaction would be associated with the primary campaign source set on the settings. All transactions would be associated with the campaign that's specified within the form builder. Correct?

Removing the Primary campaign source from C&P settings as you suggested above is not possible since it's a required field.
Changing the SKU of primary campaign source is also not an option since that's what's causing the issue we're discussing here.

                  Good day @mjokiman

If the condition is blank then it will assign the opportunity to the campaign for all those transactions which doesn't have SKU. If that is not a problem for you, you may proceed with the blank.

However, when I said remove the Primary Campaign Source I meant to delete the record, see below:
