Possible for item name (Payment for) to flow to opportunity?

We want to automatically capture the item name we input when processing an in-kind donation using Virtual Terminal. Is this possible? This field exists in a C&P Data record but it doesn't appear to have a dedicated opportunity field. Can we add it?

We have opted not to use Opportunity Products for our donations. I don't know if this has any bearing on our request, but we're not going to change our practice due to other issues with OP integration.

May I know which field you are referring to in opportunity object?

By default we are creating the opportunity with Item name but if there is any customization and if it satisfy the condition the opportunity name will be changed accordingly. Do you have any opportunity customization name under C&P Settings > Opportunity?

Ah, I see that Item Name is available for Opportunity record naming. That's helpful. However, we would prefer to map it to any other standard or custom field in an Opportunity. We might start with Description, though since we use a separate record type for in-kind donations, we could easily go with a separate "item" field, which would be more specific than the concatenation going on in the Opportunity Name field.

Sorry but it is NOT possible to map the Item name to custom fields through C&P Mapping but you may accomplish it through workflow.

Regarding the standard field, "Opportunity Name" is the standard field and there you see the Item name.

Great! Supposing I want to use a workflow to update another Opportunity field with the Item Name, which C&P Object holds the Item Name field? Or, is there some other process I have to follow to fetch this information?

Opportunity Name is the Item Name, so you may fetch the opportunity name and insert it in any custom field.

I guess I didn't state explicitly that we're using Opportunity Naming customizations. We are, so that our opportunities are named with more information than just an item name. Thus, my previous question remains. If no field yet exists that contains the Item Name alone, is it possible to create one? Can you add this to your next update?
