  • Unspecified Access Error

When trying to resolve Temporary Contacts or even just post a transaction, we sometimes get error messages like:
    Error:

Update failed. First exception on row 0 with id 0034100000bv7HlAAI; first error: INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_ON_CROSS_REFERENCE_ENTITY, insufficient access rights on cross-reference id: []

And then it deletes the contact it has made. I have no idea how to check access on a cross reference entity that it doesn't list. I have granted login access, this is holding up some gift processing and reconciliation, please take a look and help us sort this out. Org ID: 00D41000000f27H

    Good day @[email protected]

Would you please share the order number in the question and the ContactID you would like to merge with?

Sure thing: a204100000379omAAA is the temporary contact, and we aren't trying to merge, just create a new Contact (and therefore Account as well).

        Good day @[email protected]

We reviewed and found that the issue is with the Contact Record Type. It seems that the contact Record Type which you have defined namely "Alumni" under C&P Settings > Contacts & Accounts but later you have inactivated the above record type but didn't updated the same in the C&P Settings which is causing the issue now.

Please update the C&P Settings >> Contacts & Accounts > and process the temp contact.

Please test it and let us know if you find any issues.

          Hi there,

We haven't used the Alumni type for anything in CnP, and I could find one reference to Contact record types in any CnP Settings tabs - but even that didn't talk about Alumni. However, there was a seemingly blank rule matching an empty WID to the Account record type, which I deleted and now things seem okay.
