Automatic Campaign Member Creation when donation comes in via C&P PaaS?

We have SKU-based campaign mapping setup to set the Primary Campaign Source on the new donation that is created by C&P PaaS. C&P also seems to be creating a campaign membership for the primary donor even though we do not have NPSP Automatic Campaign Member Creation enabled. Is there a way to turn that off? We want the donation in the campaign, but we don't want to add/update the donor's campaign membership. We're on PaaS 9.7010.

Sorry but I am a bit confused.

You have mapped SKU to a primary campaign source - meaning you are asking us to map the opportunity to a campaign and as such make the patron a campaign member but you do not want us to do what you are setting us to do?

I am confused..

Also your instance is 2 versions behind. The issue you are discussing is not a bug but the system is doing what it is instructed to do. I highly recommend that we upgrade you as your instance is not up-to-date.

I was wondering if there is a way to map the opportunity to the campaign, but not the patron. Current behavior is to map both the opp and the patron, which means that you also have to enable the NPSP Setting "Automatic Campaign Member Management" to get consistent behavior for manually entered donations, such as donations made by check. Or use the VT for check entry. Just wondering if there's a way to control that, but it sounds like there isn't.

Oh I see what you mean. Our system is designed to assign the opportunity to the campaign and make the patron a campaign member of that campaign.

What you want is to add the opportunity to the campaign but NOT the patron. Is that right? This is a bit out of scope and has never been requested. We will consider it as part of the road-map.
