Naming Convention For Opportunities

Is there a way to customize opportunity name. for instance when a donor chooses Other the opportunity name that shows in the related list is Other. Seems like we'd want a more standard Naming like Last Name-date-Campaign or Campaign-date-Contactname. Can I do this or does this have to be a workflow or process builder

Opportunity name may be changed per SKU and customized in the C&P Settings > Opportunity
