Using the Virtual Terminal on Pre-existing Opportunities

We really want to use the virtual terminal to handle all of our payments, but we often have pre-existing opportunities we need to add payments too as part of our process. I know that C&P Transactions can be linked to Opportunities after the VT has created them manually, but can the Opportunity search box on the VT link to an actual Opp and use that to build it's Transaction on?

Sorry for the late reply. What do you mean by "the Opportunity search box on the VT "? Would you please elaborate your question little more so that we can better assist you?

This should be really straight forward - I want to be able to enter a payment from an Opportunity that already exists, just like I can from a CnP Pledge that already exists. There should be a button I can add to the Opportunity layout that will take in the ID of the Opportunity and make a new payment on it.

That being said, the part of the VT I'm referring to is the box that searches Opportunities, labelled "Payment for", which makes it look like it will pay on the found Opportunity, but doesn't.


but when you select one of those, it just shows it, but doesn't actually interact with it at all.

That is closer, but still not right. We need to be able to be on an Opportunity and then enter a payment, just like you can do from a Pledge. If we need to make a custom button or something to do it, that's fine.
