  • How to map recurring C&P transactions to their corresponding installments?

    Hello,
We have many donors who donate $10/mo or $100/mo and these are set up as C&P Recurrings.
When the transaction processes, it creates a duplicate Opportunity in Salesforce.
How do I map the C&P Recurring transaction to its matching installment?

    thanks
    Susanna

    Good day @Susanna

It doesn't need to manually map the corresponding installments to the recurring, our system will map them automatically. Would you please grant us login access to your Salesforce account and share the order number of the duplicate opportunity you are referring to?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hello, thanks for getting back to me. I'll have to wait for a new payment to come in, and then I will grant you login access and share the two opportunities. One is created with the charge, and one is the Opportunity already in place with a Stage=Pledged, awaiting payment.

To clarify what happens, here is an example: If a donor pledges $10/mo for 12 months, I go into Salesforce and create a New Recurring Donation. This creates the 12 installments with Stage=Pledged (we need to see these Opportunities on the donor record so we know they are due). Then I set up the payment information in C&P. This generates the monthly charge, and creates a new Opportunity. I just need it to match to and update the existing Opportunity.

I still am struggling to learn how to use Connect, because I think we are supposed to stop using your old site very soon. I'm never sure when to use the Salesforce C&P settings or the Connect settings. This may be part of the problem.

Hi, ok today we received several automated C&P payments on pledges, so now you can see an example of what happens. I am sharing the order numbers and associated duplicate Salesforce records. To reiterate, the payment itself does not create two records; it creates a new one instead of mapping to the existing Opportunity that has Stage=Pledged. I do not know how to map these so the data syncs.

You have login access to our org.
Here are two examples from today:

        1.
        C&P Order Number: 173168135517414766091
the resulting Salesforce Opportunity record: https://na34.salesforce.com/0066100000FHqwA
the already existing Salesforce Opportunity: https://na34.salesforce.com/0066100000COGtV\

        2.
        C&P Order Number: 173169192849446542685
the resulting Salesforce Opportunity record: https://na34.salesforce.com/0066100000FHr3p
the already existing Salesforce Opportunity: https://na34.salesforce.com/0066100000EUCw0

        3.
        C&P Order Number: 173169312670414765204
the resulting Salesforce Opportunity record: https://na34.salesforce.com/0066100000FHr5W
the already existing Salesforce Opportunity: https://na34.salesforce.com/0066100000BhiBF

We have many recurring opportunities like this. They were not created from within C&P; they were created a year ago when we did our Salesforce implementation. I just want their C&P payment to map to the already existing Salesforce installment, to show it paid and to update fields. Please advise and thank you.

            Good day @Susanna

            Sorry for the late reply.

Those are not the duplicate, you have created one opportunity manually and the other one is created by C&P.

Please refer to the following: http://help.clickandpledge.com/custo...ticles/2084233

You may assign the Contact and Stage to the Opportunity which you have created manually, this way the opportunity comes under that contact and from there you may settle the Opportunity.

            Hope that helps.

Hello. I'm not sure I made myself clear. Yes, all of the pledges were entered manually into Salesforce last year. What we need to do is connect the incoming C&P payment to the existing Salesforce installment. My original question was "How do I map the C&P Recurring transaction to its matching installment?" That is still my question. I need to map them.

If we have future pledges, I do not have any instructions about how to set them up from within C&P in order to have it create those installments. The only thing I can find is your Developer's Manual, which is a little bit helpful. I do not have a recurring option in my Virtual Terminal. How do I set up new recurring donations from C&P so it will create all of the installments and automatically map future payments to them?
