  • Additional Fee Creating Multiple Opportunities

Hi - new to the CnP platform. I love love love that you have implemented an 'Additional Fee' payment option for donors.

When this happens - I'm noticing that it creates a second donation in Salesforce for the fee amount - is it possible to roll the fee + the transaction all into one Salesforce opportunity? At the very least is it possible not to create that second gift.

    Thank in advance.

    Good day @zacherytapp

Sorry, it is not an option in the current system. But, if you enable the Products under C&P Settings > Opportunity > Product, all items in the basket will become products under one opportunity.

    Hope that helps.

      Good day zacherytapp

We do NOT recommend the "Opportunity > Product" option as stated before. It is just a suggestion if you are using the Opportunity / Product option in Salesforce. If you are not using it then we do not suggest you enable this feature. It is a one time change which will affect all your transactions requiring you to use price books, etc. Something not at all recommended.

Thanks for the heads up - we are testing in a sandbox right now and it looks like you can create the products without actually enabling that feature and it all rolls into one gift. Is it possible to configure it so the additional transaction fee does NOT get pushed into Salesforce (just the amount of the original gift)?

        Thanks in advance.

          Good day @zacherytapp

Sorry there is no way to push the data partially, it posts complete data to SF.

Hello, is there any update to the status of being able to group the additional fee and donation as one opportunity?

Having them as two opportunities makes sending acknowledgments for the full amount much more difficult.

              Good day @franharrington

NO, it is not possible. The "Additional Fee" coming in Salesforce is not an optional opportunity but a separate line item resulting in a separate opportunity, by design.
