Error when managing temp contacts

  • Error when managing temp contacts

    I received the following error when attempting to create a new contact from a temp contact. This has happened with two separate temp contacts today -- in both cases I attempted to create a new contact (as opposed to merge with an existing contact).

    What does this mean? What is the best way to resolve?
    • Record ID: cannot specify Id in an insert call
    • Insert failed. First exception on row 0 with id a0cd000000FbvraAAB; first error: INVALID_FIELD_FOR_INSERT_UPDATE, cannot specify Id in an insert call: [Id]

    Would you please grant us login access to your Salesforce account and share the temp contact order numbers which you are referring to (also share the ContactID you would like to merge with) so that we can debug the issue.

              Good day @Radha

              We reviewed your instance and found that the contacts which you are referring to has been created with the difference of 6 mints:

              With C&P it take max a minute to create the contact and it is strange to found that another contact has been created after the original one.

              However, in order to debug the issue, we need a temp contact which didn't attempt to process yet so that we can enable the debug logs and see what is going on.

                  We reviewed and processed the above temp contact as new contact and didn't find any issues as you are referring to. We don't see any error nor it created duplicate contact even after 6 mints.

                    Yes, I do need additional help with this.

                    Since I already attempted to manage those temp contacts twice -- resulting in many duplicate objects -- I'm hesitant to try to manage them again.

                    What do you recommend?

                      Also, we've got at least one more temp contact with the same issue : TC-4603.

                      So our needs are
                      1) What is the ongoing issue causing this error?
                      2) how do we fix the errors? Should we delete the existing temp contacts? Was all of the information transferred to the correct objects

                        We are reviewing your instance and we required the following information: please let us know the exact steps you are taking to process the temp contacts and do you see any error while processing temp contacts?

                        In our last test in your instance we unable to replicate the issue and for further investigation we need couple of temp contact IDs to process and see what is going on.
