  • How to Test Recurring Donation

We have been able to to create recurring donations via a custom VF page. However, we never see the additional opportunities created for the subsequent installments. Is there a way to test that functionality, to ensure our setup is correct and recurring donations will process properly? I would like to see the additional opportunities created and then I could setup an additional outbound communication to the donors, each time the opportunity is created.

    Thanks for your help!

            Good day @Deltau

We noticed that the above transaction is processed in Test Mode and it is from 26March2016. May I know from where this transaction has been processed?

I see that the second instalment for above recurring didn't processed. Do you have any latest recurring that you see above issue?

Those transactions are created from a custom visual force page that we have created. I wanted to make sure that the recurring transactions would be properly created before promoting to production.

We can create a new recurring transaction, if that would help you trouble shoot.

                Good day @Deltau

Yes, that would be great if you please do one test and see if you find any issues with creating opportunities for instalments.

Sorry for the delay. Here is the URL to the newly created Transaction for a monthly recurring donation: https://missionsministries--cpdev--c...A000000Rg7LUAS. How can I "test" that the next donation will be created successfully, without having to wait a month? Do I need to create a transaction with shorter Periodicity? Does the transaction type need to be something other than "Test? If so, will the test credit card number still successfully process?

I have also granted you login access again.

                    Thanks for your help!

Thank you. I have just tried clicking that button and I received the following error "Sorry but we have encountered an error while trying to process the payment. Please try again or contact the patron for updated payment information."

I don't see anything in my debug logs that shows an error. Do you have anything on your end?

                          Good day @Deltau

Ah, my apologize, since the recurring has been processed with the test card, it won't process the instalments. You need to setup the recurring with real card in order to process the instalments.

Can I still process with the "Test" Transaction Type? If I process a real credit card in Test mode, will it not actually charge the credit card?

                              Deltau

TEST transactions post to an entirely different server and they never settle. A TEST transaction simply authorizes & disappears forever.. no traces of it will be left anywhere and nothing about it settles.

We, of course, recommend that you test with a test card, namely, 4111111111111111 (4 and 15x1's), with expiration date of any date in the future and any 3 digit number as the CVV.

                              Hope that helps.
