  • Cant Process a Gift with a Canadian Address

    Hi, I've just tried to process a temporary contact that has an address in canada, and I'm getting the following error (attached): Billing State/Province Code: the existing country/territory doesn't recognize the state value for field. I've granted 1 week of access, the org id is: 00Dj00000028Gll

    We reviewed your instance and noticed that you have enabled State and Country Picklists in your instance:

    Since in the presence of State and Country Picklists enabled, temporary contacts won't work. Would you please disable the State and Country Picklists and try to process the temp contact.

      Are you saying taht we cannot use picklist values at all? I imagine other clients use the Picklists...and the Temporary Contacts have worked for any that were within the US. Are you suggesting to just temporarily de-activate the Picklists to process teh Canadian gifts, and then re-activate?

          The order number is: 1611021346237801005 it should create a brand new contact. Thanks!

            Good day @ProjectMorry

            One of our developers reviewed your instance and concluded that while processing the temp contact the NPSP trigger is causing the issue while creating the Account and throwing above error.

            Since the State and Country having the value of full name for above order number but NPSP trigger is trying to save the State and Country into 2 digits code which is causing the integrity issue and failing to create the Account.

            Please note that in the presence of NPSP, ‘C&P’ is not creating the Account. ‘Contact & Organization’ is creating the Account record, we only creates Contacts.

              Thanks. That being said; how do you recommend resolving this? As I mentioned, I know a lot of organizations use C&P and I'm sure a lot of them use the NPSP, so what do you recommend as the workaround?

                Good day @ProjectMorry

                As of now the only solution for above issue is to disable the Sate and Country picklist in Salesforce.

                We have tested the above scenarios in our test instances and found that the issue is with the combination of NPSP and Salesforce State and Country picklist. We are working on the resolution and will be addressed the above issue in the next release of PaaS which is due out in end of this Month.
