  • New Recurring C&P gift - Opportunity naming strange in Salesforce?

Opportunity naming is not right? Please see the recurring gift ID #216077. (L. Stanton, monthly gift, created 9/26/16 - the SF opportunity that matches this is named "Amount of Donation"?)

I've given you access, our SF ID is 00D1a000000YF55

Also on this gift - If I change the Campaign and Fund on that recurring gift, that will follow to the child opportunities, as the rest of these gifts fire, yes?

( I have the wrong default Campaign in the system - and I don't know how to change that to a new one - and we don't have it set up for them to choose a fund, so I have to change it based on their answers to a custom question)

Access has been extended for another 3 days... anyone able to help me with this? The gift came in through our website - maybe the problem is there? I will need to fix this before the next one fires on 10/26, any help would be appreciated. I may need to set up another Campaign in Connect for the website to use? Or can I somehow connect it to a Salesforce Campaign?

        Good day @Leslie Cox

We do apologize for the delay in reaching you.

        1. Have you updated the opportunity name manually?

Opportunity name can be customize under C&P Settings >> Opportunity >> Customize Name, but in your case I don't see any setting for customize name:

Have you removed the settings? By default opportunity name is the Item Name.

Regarding the Campaign for opportunity, you need to update the existing opportunity Campaign manually and for child opportunities you can set those based on the Custom Question Mapping.

Hope that helps. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Yes, I'm sorry, in the intervening time, I had to go ahead and change the name to something closer to other opportunities in SF; I wanted to wait until you'd seen it, but you know how that goes.

Thank you for showing me where to look for the Opportunity Name settings; I will look there. Someone else had set us up originally, so I didn't know where to look and don't know the reasons it was set as it was, and didn't know what the default was - you've told me that as well, thanks.

So - If I use that window and set something like: If: Any or Blank SKU, Field=Contact Name, Text={%20}CC{%20}Donation, Field=Date: MM/DD/YYYY ---> will I get something like what I renamed it to, on future gifts?

As for the Campaign - I don't know how to do what you said (set the child opportunities based on the Custom Question Mapping) - I will need to find instructions on that.

One further question - If I have a Click and Pledge Campaign set up in Connect, will it cause an issues to change the Salesforce Campaign it maps to, after it has been in use? In other words, will it act as I expect and simply start channeling gifts to the new Campaign and make no other difference, or are there other things happening behind the scenes that would mean I shouldn't change that?

            Good day @Leslie Cox

Yes, that is how it works and you will get the opportunity name as you are expecting.

Custom Question Mapping: You may want to refer this: http://help.clickandpledge.com/custo...ticles/1164713

Regarding the Connect Campaign, based on the mapping, it will simply assign Opportunity/Amount to that Campaign other than that, there will will no other changes or effect.

Hope that makes sense. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
