  • VT setup questions

    Hello, I'm using Salesforce and very much need to better understand the ins and outs of the new Virtual Terminal. I have a couple questions that I think are very basic, but I cannot find the resources to answer them. (Is there a manual that answers all of these questions? I really have a hard time finding an organized set of comprehensive resources on your site.) Help?

    1) I can login to Connect and I can login to SF. There is a VT in both places. What is the difference between the two? Shouldn't they be synced so the default fields are the same in both places? Currently, they are not synced and it appears that I have to separately and manually enter all of the same data in two places. I need to use the VT in SF for an event next week and need to be sure it works (the old portal is working fine, but that won't help me next week).

    2) Custom questions with a checkbox. I have four of these. It is unclear how to simply indicate that if we check the box, this equals true. I can only find instructions that tell me to enter answers separated by a semcolon (e.g. "Yes; No"), which gives me a picklist. I just want a checked box to equal true. Are there instructions for this?

    1. Connect VT and SF VT has been designed for same purpose but both are having their own settings. It need to be set up separately.

    2. As of now Custom Questions in VT supports ONLY text-area and picklist fields NOT check box.

      Ok, thank you for the information. I understand we now have to set up Connect VT and SF VT separately and identically, with all mapping and everything. Good to know! Also, you may want to know that the Connect VT is very confusing when it gives a Check box option in the Additional Questions section of the VT default settings. The asterisk at the bottom also seems to clearly indicate that a check box is supported! I'm attaching a screenshot so you can update this! Thanks.

        Connect VT do have Checkbox option but it won't show the value as True. It simply shows whatever the Question and Answer is.

        Are you mapping the custom questions and answers to any of the field in Contact/Account/Opportunity object in Salesforce?
