  • Virtual Terminal entry not processing membership - setup issue

    I entered a transaction in Virtual Terminal. It created a transaction record and showed a total charged and a transaction number.


    However, when I look in Opportunity for that , it shows a Remaining Balance and an Opportunity Record type of Donation (not membership). Furthermore, the contact record shows no membership details such a end date.

    How do I get the Opportunity record type to be "Membership" not donation, other than manually changing it in the opportunity record ?
    How do I get the membership details (level, dates) to be entered in the contact record ? they were not updated in an overnight process
    How do I get the Opportunity record to show that the payment was actually received ?

    This feels like I am missing some setup of a configuration or process.

    1. You may set the opportunity record type within the C&P Settings > Opportunity > Record Types, based on the SKU you may define the Record Types:

    2. May I know what membership details you are referring to?

    3. The field which you are referring to in the attached image is not C&P field and we are not updating the values.

      The opportunity record is now created as a membership record. Questions 2 & 3 are interrelated. Non Profit Starter Pack 3 runs a process nightly (see https://powerofus.force.com/articles...th-Memberships for details ) which uses certain fields in the Opportunity record to update fields in the contact record (eg membership level and membership end date ). However, the process does not run for Opportunities which are at stage 'Prospecting'. If l look at an opportunity record created by C&P, the remaining balance is the amount supposedly charged by C&P. That is, C&P indicates the payment has been made, so the remaining balance ought to be zero. Since the amount has been paid,the stage ought to be 'Posted', not 'Prospecting'. It appears that C&P is writing the Opportunity record - so it ought to be able to set those 2 fields correctly or give me control to do so.

      Also, why is the "automatic renew membership" checked ? In this case, it was a one time payment. How do I contrrol that ?

      See attached image to see an opportunity record as it gets initially created by C&P. Note that it is 'Prospecting' even though C&P has received the money.

        Automatic Renew Membership was set as checked for the default settings for that field.
        When I went to C&P settings - Opportunity -and changed Automatic Transactions to "Posted" that took care of the problem with posting the payment.

          We are updating the stage based on the Payment Status (Authorized, Declined, Closed Lost, Credit..etc). Based on the settings you have set under C&P Settings >> Opportunity >> Stage. Please review the "Stage" in the following link: http://help.clickandpledge.com/custo...ticles/1164724
