  • Difference in transaction date fields

What is the difference between transaction charge date, transaction date, and transaction timezone?

And, how would I (SF) query the transactions to find out, for example, all of the processing charges for a given month. I am assuming I would examine a date field, but am not sure how I know what transactions are batched together, what time of day (in gmt) the transactions are actually batched, and what, if anything, is different on weekends and holidays.

My goal would be to have a report that the bookkeeper can compare against the bank statements.

    Good day!

By processing charges do you mean the fees associated with each transaction?

    As for the dates:

Transaction Date: The date is based on US EST (GMT -5)
Transaction Date TimeZone: The date is based on the organization time zone.

In Salesforce the time zone is what is being used as that is the date set in the Profile in C&P

The date explanation helps. Yes, I mean the fees associated associated with each transaction and, in particular, how do I compute what transactions role up into what batches?

        Good day!

The fees are incorrect for the most part. They are simply mathematical calculation of your rate with the transaction. The reason they may not be correct is the non-qualified rates that we are not aware of when we authorize a transaction.

The fees were removed from the Portal and will be removed from PaaS in a future update. Visa, MasterCard, and AmEx charge nonqualified fees when a transaction does not qualify. They do not respond to us during the authorization if a transaction is not qualified. It only appears on the statement when it settles.

We do not recommend using the fees for any comparison or accounting as what we show, based on the above, is inaccurate.

Hmmm. Can you explain more what a nonqualified fee is. I would certainly be disappointed if you removed this field in the future.

Is there another way that you would suggest that allows us to cross check to know the charges are accurate?

          thanks

            Good day!

The fee field has been removed from all apps and in Salesforce it will be removed as it does not reflect the non-qualified as explained before.

If you look at our price page: http://ClickandPledge.com/Pricing/ you will see there is an additional fee for the non-qualified cards. You asked what is a non-qualified transaction. Here is a reference I found: https://www.wellsfargo.com/biz/merch...e/nonqualified

The fee is what is passed on by Visa & MasterCard as well as AmEx for cards that do not qualify for their standard rates. We have no knowledge of what type of cards trigger this fee but it is a surcharge. We explain this in our pricing and the extra fee associated with it. The fee passed on the statement by the merchant account provider (in US it is Transfirst) is the fee that has been charged and naturally is the right one. If you wish to know roughly what the rate is simply do the calculation based on the discount rate and per transaction fee for your account. Please submit a support ticket at our help desk to find out the rate in case you don't know what your account has been set up as when you applied for the account.

In Release 10 this field will be removed.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
