Address Change on a Subsequent Donation

If someone has an existing salesforce record, makes a donation but uses a different address than is on their salesforce record, what happens to the address fields? will the new address overwrite the old or will it be dumped in another address field in salesforce? or will it generate a temporary contact even though we are not asking the system to match address fields (just first, last and email).

Good day!

We do NOT write over existing data. We create an Alias for the contact.

If you go to the Contact Layout and add the C&P Contact Alias to your related list section you will see the new address. You will be given the opportunity to copy the new one over the old one or just keep it.
