  • Assigning / Editing Campaign in a Click&Pledge Recurring Object

    Hi there!

I set up a monthly opportunity for a donor, but forgot to assign the campaign when I was setting it up!

How can I go in a set or edit that from the C&P recurring object?

    Thanks!
    ~Alisha

    Good day @[email protected],

Sorry, as of now we don't have an option to update the campaign for recurring transaction. The only solution is to cancel the recurring and set up a new one with updated information.

Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

    Thanks,
    Regards,

      Hi there!

Thanks for your reply. Rats. It's unfortunate that the gift has to be canceled and set back up again.

I'd like to request that editing the campaign associated with the C&P recurring object be added as feature in a future release. This would be especially useful if someone uploads a batch of gifts and forgets the campaign name in the upload spreadsheet.

      Cheers,
      ~Alisha

        Good day [email protected]

We are actually thinking of adding this without causing confusion.

It is something we are working on now for the Connect update later this year.

To help grease the wheels of justification ---
This is something other clients have wondered about as well. It's also good for moving recurring gifts into the next yearly campaign, upgrade campaigns, or into campaigns used to track giving levels as it increases over time. Thanks!

This is something that is really important to one of my clients. With the new update to Connect 2.0 has this been enabled? And if yes, how do we go about it?

                Good day @dstephens

In the latest Connect, you can update the Campaign for recurring transaction. You will need to update the Campaign into most recent respective recurring transaction to get apply for all future recurring transactions. The transactions which has already be done we need to do it manually by going to that transaction details and selecting the particular campaign.

Login to Connect and go to the Transactions > click on respective order number of the recurring transaction > click on Manage Recurring and on the order number > here you can change the Campaign.

Hope that helps. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

This is great news! Just to confirm, as I realize that I didn't mention that this is for Salesforce as well. I know in Salesforce there is the Transaction Campaign, Connect Campaign and then the Salesforce Campaign. Will this affect all campaign associations?

I also noticed that you can only select from existing connect campaigns, so I am assuming that would mean that you have to create a connect campaign for any campaign code you want to update in Salesforce.

I just thought I'd confirm the details of this. Thanks!

                    Good day @dstephens

As of now we don't have that option in Salesforce. Yes, you will need to create the Campaign in Connect. If you want to attach that to the existing Campaign in Salesforce then you will need to create the Campaign in Connect with exactly same name what you have in Salesforce.

Hope that helps. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

But there is still some discussion to let allow for changing a campaign on a recurring gift in salesforce, or enter the new campaign name in the transaction in Connect and have that go to the Transaction Campaign? None of our clients use Connect for forms or campaigns, so having to create copies of every campaign isn't really feasible.

                      Thanks!

I'm curious what the progress of this topic is. Has a method been created to allow for updates like this from within Salesforce. More clients are asking to make edits to recurring payments and the child transactions under them.

                          Good day @[email protected]

We are brainstorming about this to see the possibilities to include in version 10.x as it is having cascading effects. As of now, there is NO ETA.
