  • Batch Upload- Canadian date format causing an issue?

We are uploading recurring donations with a batch. Upon first try, we received an error that the date format on the First Installment Date was invalid, as we were setting it up per the instructions MMDDYYY.

We swapped it to Canadian format DDMMYYY, which is what this instance uses. Now the batch upload batch doesn't fail anymore, but the transaction is listed as declined. There is no declined transaction in Connect however, and none synced back to Salesforce. The apex batch is error free and complete. The Batch Upload record says "processing" still and 0 transactions.

I tried a single transaction via the batch upload with the same card/contact and it worked fine--we got a transaction from C&P in salesforce. The only difference in the file is the presence of the recurring donation information, so I assume the date format is causing an issue.

    Good day @Perc-BRC,

It seems to be issue with Locale. Would you please change the Locale of your Organization and User to US format i.e. MMDDYY and do a test?

Once you batch upload you may can revert it back to Canadian format.

Please check and let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,
    Regards,

Hi- I can't just change the locale on the org. It will likely break every integration that uses dates and they have a ton. I will set up a sandbox to test. If changing the locale fixes it, what is the proposed solution? I can't change the locale on the org just for fixing this; will it be something you can fix on your end? Thanks!

          Hi-
Changing just the company locale to US-- it won't upload (stuck in "please wait) with the sheet in US date format
Changing just the user locale to US-- it uploads a US Date format fine.
We need to keep all these users set to Canada for day to day work, so I would rather it work correctly for whatever the user/company locale is).

So it sounds like the batch upload will be fixed to work with whatever the user or company locale is? I'm assuming just checking the user locale would be enough as long as they format the sheet in their own locale date format. When will the next release happen, do you think? They have several thousand recurring gifts to upload soon, so I'll have them wait if it's not too long.

          Thanks!

Yes, no matter what locale is for user it works. We have addressed this and it is in testing phase. Release date not yet disclosed but hopefully it may be in the next month. We do apologize for any inconvenience.

Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

            Thanks,
