  • Access to recurring object in C&P Designer

I would like to reference fields in the C&P Recurring object in the autoresponder thank you note that is created through C&P Designer.

Can you make that object available for merge fields?

    Good day!

Currently that is not available as a separate field. If a recurring payment is posted it will show up in the Transaction grid in line with item list just like our regular receipts. The recurring fields are already included with the entire listing but not as separate.

We have added this as a request and will try to include it in the next release later this year.

Are you suggesting that the fields like the installment picklist (monthly, quarterly, etc) is already available as a merge field? If so, where? If not, that is my request and if you add the recurring object we should be close to there.

Then the problem I expect to run into is that I want to use the installment field in the text. I would like a sentence like: your donation will be processed on a {Installment Period} basis. Unfortunately the naming of your picklist includes things like Monthly and Quarterly, but also 2 weeks and that will read poorly. My thought for how I would work around that is to extend your recurring object to include a formula field which maps your installmentperiod value to something that will read well in all cases.

So, it is important that when you provide merge fields that you also allow merging of field extensions for your objects. There is reasonably straightforward apex code to get all the field names for an object. I dont know how your are determining your merge fields so I thought I would give you my full desired use case.

      thanks

        Good day!

        Thank you for the suggestion.

We will see to it that the flexibility requested is added. It makes sense.
