  • Mapping fields on import to Salesforce

Custom Mapping in Salesforce. We'd like to be able to import the phone number and email provided by donors (during checkout transaction) into their Salesforce record. How do we accomplish this?

    Good day!

Would you please add the image as JPG. The PNG format you have used does not show full image. Thank you.

        Good day!

When a contact is being created the data will be added to the fields as mapped by you in the image.

If a contact exists we do not add the values to the Existing Contact, as we never update an existing contact. If a contact exists and the data is not the same as is in the Contact record we create an ALIAS with the new information. You may add the alias to the contact layout and push the data to the fields you need.

This design is critical since we do not want to corrupt your existing contact record in case the entered values are corrupted, trash, or just spam. If we were to update your record a contact that for example uses his or her spouse's email in a donation will change your records for that contact without your knowledge.

        Hope this answers your question.

I think that answers my question. So basically are saying that the data will be imported into the record and can be viewed via the related list called "C&P Contact Alias". Please confirm this is what you mean.

            Yes, that is the correct.
