  • Invalid Contact ID for role ?

    Hi support team, I am trying to convert a temporary contact into our system and it keeps giving the error
    • The Contact Id supplied in the Contact Id for Role field was invalid. Please use a valid Contact Id.
    • Upsert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION, The Contact Id supplied in the Contact Id for Role field was invalid. Please use a valid Contact Id.: []


    I had created a custom object to try and display contact roles and I think this may have messed this up, but I have deleted the custom object and I am still getting the error so Im not sure what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Good day!

    "but I have deleted it" -- this means it is still in the recycle bin.

    May we suggest that you remove it from the recycle bin and try again.

      I have emptied my entire recycle bin and I still have the error

        This is a known issue with NPSP 2.x and not going to be fixed with NPSP 2.x as they have upgraded to 3.x.

          Ok Ive disabled this setting and it has worked for processing the temporary contact, the only issue now is that the data for the C&P transaction shows up but no data comes up under donation/opportunity as it usually does, is there any way to have that data be there without this setting enabled ?

            Good day!

            The transactions that you are referring to must have generated an error. The Maintenance should be able to run and fix them if no errors are generated. We reviewed the C&P data and see only 3 warnings which are due to the contacts being in the C&P Temp. See below:

            We processed one of them (Contact last name ***uslim) without any issues. Please review your instance & if you see any other errors please let us know the Order # so we can review it. As stated the Maintenance feature runs every 3 hours and reviews all errors and resolves them if it can. We do not see any errors at this time.

            We can gladly upgrade you to the latest C&P versions but unfortunately cannot hep with the NPSP 2.x upgrade.

            Please let us know if you want us to upgrade your C&P apps.
