  • Contact Alias Mapping

    In the contact Alias mapping, the phone field maps to the business field by default. How can I change that default to map to the regular phone field?

    This is related to the C&P Settings > Contacts & Account > Mapping

      Thank you. I checked that setting and it is mapped to "home phone" and yet in the alias it defaults to business phone...
      I granted login access, and would appreciate if you can take a look and troubleshoot.

                I guess we are not sure what you are asking.

                If you want to change the default value of the "Map to Contact Record" pull down menu - the default cannot be changed as it is hard coded and is designed to allow for selection when you are pushing the data. We are not considering adding this as an optional setting since it adds a lot more to the setting where one can simply select which field one wishes to push the data.

                Hope that answers the question. If we are not understanding the question please clarify further.

                  Yes, this is what i wanted to do - instead of that defaulting to business phone and needing to manually select mobile every time, I would like it to default to mobile. Are you saying that this is not possible to do?

                    Good day!

                    No it is not a feature currently. We have added this as a feature request.

                    The idea was fields to be a pull down menu so you may choose whatever you want. Setting up a default was not in the design and coming up with yet another setting to have people choose what they want to be the default makes the admin more complex.

                    We will see what we can do to make it easier for you in a future release.

                      In general - more complex admin is not bad if it makes things smoother for the end users. The less clicks they need to make to get a task done the better!
