  • Temporary Contacts Processing

    I can't process Temporary Contacts. Please review Permissions- User: Michael Caruso

    Salesforce.com Organization ID00D1a000000ZcBb

    *Also, when you install update (per webinar host-sorry I forgot his name) can you update page layouts for Admins only, if possible, and not change default page layouts? Only Admins have access to C&P.

    Good day @MichaelC,

    We have reviewed your instance and identified the issue. You are using the Territory Management feature of Salesforce and at this time we are not supporting this feature. We have been working with Salesforce support to identify the permission issue with that feature.

    Please disable the Territory Management and it will work. We will come up with an update once we can find a solution for this issue.

      So you're telling me that I can't bring my temporary contacts from C&P into Salesforce unless I turn off Territory Management? Not a good solution. Territory Management is a key structure in SF for our organization. Is there any work around? I spent a lot of time installing/learning this program and would hate to have to uninstall it becasue of this glitch.

        Good day!

        Salesforce support does not have a solution at this time & we have been working with them to figure out the permission problem.

        At this time Territory Management is not supported. Sorry for the inconvenience but with Salesforce's new update this feature breaks and they are investigating the issue. We have had an open case with them for over 3 months and been constantly working with them. The issue surfaced after the latest release of Salesforce and outside our control at this time until we can determine the permission problem.

          So to reiterate, My Temp Contacts will remain Temp and I can't move them into SF as permanent records? This totally defeats the entire purpose for using C&P. (I know it's not your fault) Can you guys think of a work around- even a manual temporary one- so I can move these records into SF? I have 6 active events currently in registration process. Thanks.

            Good day!

            The Fully Automatic version of contact matching will work. Also in the Temp if you choose New Contact it will work. The merge function has permission error.

            You can do one thing -- disable the territory management > process the temp > enable the territory management

            so you have 3 options.

            I am again sorry but we are completely at a loss here and based on all discussions going back and forth, Salesforce is also not sure why this is happening. We are actively working on this.

                I'm still having trouble. I set the account configuration Match Mode to Fully Automatic. I also set up a Parent Account so automatic records can be reviewed and reassigned. (Image 1) When I co back to the Registrations and choose a Temp record and try to process into Salesforce I select New Contact and I still receive the system error. See attached images. I really need to get these records in. We looked at temporarily shutting of Territories- but my SF Consultant said this would create problems and not a recommended solution. Any other ideas?

                  Good day!

                  Fully automatic can help you for moving forward and not the existing Temps.

                  At this time the only solution is to disable Territory Management and process the temps then enable it. Sorry but at this time we do not have any other solutions.
