  • Incoming transaction not creating a temp contact and overwriting contact data?

    We have Match Mode set to Semi-automatic (so semi-matches should create temp contacts), matching on first, last, email, mailing street, c&p alias street. When a transaction comes in that matches on name, email, but NOT on street, it is not creating a temp contact-- instead it's attaching the transaction and opps to the existing contact. What's more, it is overwriting the street address, which I didn't think it could even do (it is also creating the alias rec). Ideas? I don't see errors in NPSP or emails from Click & Pledge. Thanks!

    Good day!

    There is no way for the Contact information to be written over. If any information does not match we simply create an alias for the record. Under no circumstances we touch existing record. We do not do this since we always feel the data can easily be corrupted if the end user enters invalid information. It is always best to verify an update and that is why we create an alias.

    If you want we can review the instance. Please grant us access and an order number to review.
