  • Issue with Custom Field Auto population

    Hello,

Currently our "Budgeted Amount" field is being populated with the amount from C&P transactions that come through online. Both through the events platform as well as through our online donation form. I've checked the custom field mapping settings within C&P and don't see anything that should trigger the autopopulation. I've also checked all of our workfolws, and formulas and cannot find anything that would cause this to happen there either. My goal is to get the autopopulation to stop. Anything you could do to help would be greatly appreciated! When looking in the system right now, you'll see that many of the budgeted amounts have been set to 0, that is due to manual clean up. Just wanted to give you an FYI if you go to look in the system to see the autopopulating happening.

I've granted salesforce access to C&P and our Org ID is: 00D70000000IzHN.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Good day @Chrisi,

Sorry but we have read this post several times and do not understand what you mean or are trying to do.

Where is the field, in what object?

Naturally we are not populating it so it must be another app. Can you give us screen shots so we know what you are referring to. A number of us have read the post and cannot figure out what you mean.

Sorry about the confusion. The "budgeted amount" field is on the Opportunities or what we call Donations Object. When a transaction is posted through the C&P paas the transaction automatically fills out the budgeted amount field with the amount of the transaction and I can't figure out how it is doing it.

        Good day!

I moved this post to the Salesforce Donor Management channel. Your question is not related to the API Platform since that channel is related to questions dealing with the core API.

We do not update the field - this must be a custom trigger. The field you are referring to is not one of our fields.

We can gladly login to your account and find out what you have done. Hopefully that will help you find the culprit. Instructions on how to grant access is at the top of the page in the announcement section. Please make sure to post your Salesforce Organization ID as well.

            Good day @ChrisL,

We have tested this issue but have not been able to see what you are reporting.

Please see the following test order numbers in your instance:
            • 151028073016505
            • 151028075152770
            • 151028075838833
In reviewing the Opportunity we have not seen any value being added to the "Budgeted Amount" - see below

If you give us an example of a transaction we could possibly find a connection. As stated before this is most definitely a custom formula field or trigger and as such we have to reverse engineer what you have done. Not easy when dealing with a blackbox.

Let us know if we can be of any assistance.
