  • Formula Fields in Recurring Calculating Off of Opportunity

I am trying to show on the opportunity what the total amount of the recurring pledge is. I am using a formula field and showing the total amount from the C&P Recurring object. The field I am using is CnP_PaaS__C_P_Recurring__r.CnP_PaaS__Total__c. This is working on about 90% of the recurring entries, but there are a couple that I am running into that have a different amounts in the formula than they have in the recurring object view. Is there a reason for this? And a work-around?

    Good day @Teri_Walker,

May we have an order number and access to the account as well as the Salesforce Organization ID to review the issue you are discussing.

Absolutely. The Org ID is 00Dj0000000HLBF. The opportunity ID is 006j000000KqpiM. The formula field on opportunity that is rolling up differently than what is shown in the recurring is: C_P_Recurring_Total_Pledge__c. The formula is just showing this field from C&P Recurring: CnP_PaaS__C_P_Recurring__r.CnP_PaaS__Total__c. The C&P recurring ID in this example is 152899. And access has been granted.

        Good day @Teri_Walker,

We are reviewing the case but we have noticed that your client's instance does not have the latest release. Should we upgrade them while we are reviewing the case?

May I ask what is the descrepancy you are observing. It seems like the values are identical.

Perhaps we are missing the question. Would you elaborate a bit more.

So total is "total paid"? What is the right field name for total commitment? that is the number I am looking for.

                Good day @Teri_Walker,

There is no field for total commitment as we handle unlimited (indefinite) recurring so the total commitment is meaningless. The following shows how we calculate the total commitment based on the number of recurring payments and each payment:

Please note that indefinite recurring (infinite) will not have a total commitment - we simply write in the field: Indefinite.

Hope that makes sense. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
