  • How to assign new Opportunities to the Individual (NPSP Bucket) Account

    With v 8.3040 we no longer need or can control the account model used for mapping Opportunities to Accounts. We need to have the opportunities map to the Individual Account aka Bucket Account (for gifts from Individuals) so the the NPSP rollup's will rollup giving history correctly.

    I am testing this for gifts coming in through the Seattle Foundation GiveBIG online form.

    How can I change this setting?

    Good day Charlie,

    That option is hidden if you have NPSP installed. NPSP handles the account creation for new contacts and as such C&P does not handle it.

    The option will show if NPSP is not installed.

    Do you have NPSP Installed?

      Yes, we have the current version of the NPSP installed. C&P Opportunities created from the Seattle Foundation's GiveBIG online form (which we are testing) are not being assigned to the Individual (aka Bucket) Account. How can we change this?

        Good day Charles,

        With NPSP installed we have no control over Account creation as it is handled with NPSP.

        I suggest you research NPSP and see how NPSP may be changed to handle the bucket model. Please note that NPSP has a setting that does this but it is a one time setting that applies to all account / contact creation and not specific to the GiveBig campaign.

          Thanks for your help. I see now that the problem I was having was with the NPSP Opportunity Rollup settings. I need to have the "Always Rollup to Primary Contact" option checked. I have changed that now and the Opportunity information is now being rolled up to the Primary Contact regardless of which Account the Opportunity is assigned too.
