Add and map field to Donate page on website into Salesforce

Hello,

We would like to add a dropdown to our donate page (www.imentor.org/donate) that maps into Salesforce so we can segment our gifts. Our web developer was able to create the field on our website but how do I map that field into our Salesforce instance? (or is there another way I should be doing this?_

Our org ID is 00D300000006WoJ and you have been granted access to our SF instance.

Custom question mapping is easy. First create the field as a custom question and then in Salesforce map it to any field in the Account, Contact, or the Opportunity object.

Are the field you are referring to the ones shown below?

Hi! This exactly what I want to do and with the "in honor or memory of" field - but how do you configure on the Custom Question Map Field Settings page within the C&P Settings in Salesforce to look for whether a value is entered or not on the custom field? So for example, if a value is entered (i.e. field is not blank) populate the value in a field on the Opportunity.

I reviewed the HTML of your form and this is what I see:

• Honoree Name
• Honoree Email Address

The above are the 2 questions you are asking and you want the answers to be added to the opportunity.

So as shown in the image:




In Step 5 you need to select the field you wish the ANSWER to the question "Honoree Name" to be added.

You need to add 2 maps- one for "Honoree Name" and one for "Honoree Email Address"

Those texts cannot be changed as they are hard coded in your site- see lines shown below

Thank you for that video! I added the custom questions on the C&P side in SF, now what do i need to give to our webdeveloper so he can connect the webform on our website to the custom questions? Or do we need to generate a new webform because it is hard coded?

nothing.. your form is all fine. I just wanted to make sure you realize that you can't just change the text for mapping to anything you want.

Your form is OK and should work if you map it with the texts that I highlighted.

Test it and let me know if that works.

It didnt work

I've added the question (and the various answers) using the C&P Settings tab in SF but is there anything I need to do on the C&P website? I noticed its not coming up when i sign onto our account:


There should be a question there called 'iMentor Location'

Why are you doing this in the Portal. You have a custom form and you are totally independent of the portal.

Form posts to Salesforce. Mapping is done in Salesforce.

Can you attend the office hours? we can show you.. believe me it is easy.
