    Good day!

We have identified the issue and are working to resolve it in an update.

The problem is when questions are broken into multiple lines, as in your case, the importer cannot parse the text. The multi-line question is causing an issue with the XML importer. This issue has never been reported and tested since it is a bit of surprise as to how the items were multi-lined.

If we knew this would happen we would have definitely blocked it from happening and since nobody else has done this we have not seen it before. We are working on blocking the interface to allow for a carriage return in the question.

Once we have a release we will let you know. We are targeting a fix for the release due out next week.

Is the importing of our data to Salesforce complete? I need to reactivate one of our autoresponders, but don't want to do it until I know the import is done.

I wanted to point out that there is no warning in the forums, blog posts, or other places that the imported data would be treated by Salesforce as new transactions; it was not addressed in the C&P Importer instructions or elsewhere that I could see. As such, I didn't think to turn off all past autoresponders and events. This resulted in a large number of emailed receipts being generated for past events and payments. Please warn people in the future that the C&P Importer can do this so this doesn't happen to others. It was embarrassing for the organization and me, and generated unnecessary confusion and negative opinions of C&P among our members. We're otherwise happy clients, but this was a big error that should have been foreseeable by C&P developers.

All records in the system, rather than setting a date range.

    Steven,

May I ask the date range you wish to have imported?

Do you want all records in our system to be exported or data within a set date range?

    The verification record looks good.

We would like to have imported to Salesforce all successful transactions (i.e., Authorized Credit Cards, Authorized eChecks, and Invoices) for as long as we've been using C&P, but Not any Purchase Orders, Test Mode transactions or Declined Credit Cards.

You have my permission to import the data.

    Steven

    Good day!

We tested your instance and imported one record without any issues. Please verify the import done by Account Verification.

Before importing your data I need your permission.

Please let me know what records you are trying to import (date range and type) so we can export from our system and import into your Salesforce. We want to make sure there is nothing going on with your data.

Once I have the permission we will go ahead and import your data into Salesforce for verification.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Please give us 24 hours to review the instance and test it using other instances. I am sure we can find out what the issue is.

I had previously set up an account for C&P access.

Do I need to reset the password or do you have the information from my C&P account history?

The few extra spaces that appear in the lines quoted from a CSV file -- within titles in the header line and between a comma and bracket in the data line -- are not in the original files. They were accidentally introduced in my copying them into the post. I noticed them after posting and wanted to be sure it was clear that those spaces do NOT exist in the original file.

    Thus they should have read:

    {{OrderNumber}},{{TotalCharged}},{{TotalDue}},{{Tr ansactionDate}},{{AuthorizationCode}},{{GatewayTra nsactionNumber}},{{VaultGUID}},{{CreditCardName}},

To show the beginning of a sample data line:
    {{CNP:121193116125218}},{{140.0000}},{{140.0000}}, {{1/19/2012 3:01:00 AM}},

    Good day!

Sorry for the trouble you are having.

I would like to review your account and the importer in your Salesforce instance. There is always a chance of an undocumented feature (aka bug) and we gladly will resolve it if it is a bug.

Would you please create a user for us following the steps listed below and provide us with your account number so we can identify the transactions.

    https://forums.clickandpledge.com/showthread.php?t=1065

Please post to the forum the UserId created so we can review your account.

To be clear, I used Salesforce Donor Management to create the zip file, as per the instructions. Unzipping the file yielded the expected CSV files in what appears to be the correct format, as I would expect. I can get to preview in C&P Importer (see image below), but I get the error message after clicking on Import Now.

The header line in a CSV (not the same one as the image below) begins:
    {{OrderNumber}},{{TotalCharged}},{{TotalDue}},{{Tr ansactionDate}},{{AuthorizationCode}},{{GatewayTra nsactionNumber}},{{VaultGUID}},{{CreditCardName}}, ...

To show the beginning of a sample data line:
    {{CNP:121193116125218}},{{140.0000}},{{140.0000}}, {{1/19/2012 3:01:00 AM}},

I have no way of knowing if there is a subtle glitch in the CSV files C&P created or if the problem is in the Importer, but it happens for all of the CSVs. I've tried creating them twice and both sets failed the same way.

    Good day!

    This is a bit confusing.

If you choose Salesforce Donor Management in the pull down menu the output will be a zip file. Opening any of the files in the zip file using a text editor (notepad) will show you the data as formatted below:

    {{CNP:1305011346440951111}},{{400.0000}},{{400.000 0}},

all columns are in a {{ }} bracket format.

Would you please open the file you have downloaded with notepad and let me know what format the data has?

I was using C&P PaaS 7.3002 and Class Library 1.1000 when it first failed. I updated to PaaS 7.3003 and it still fails.

I created the CSV files for import following the instructions at:
    https://forums.clickandpledge.com/co...nto-Salesforce

I then unzipped the file and tried importing the individual CSVs exactly as described in the instructions listed above.

    Good day!

Please let me know the following:

1: What version of PaaS are you using?
2: What do you mean by you created csv files? Importer does not have a way to "Create" a csv file. The files may be downloaded through the portal by selecting the Salesforce Export. Please see the image below:

The output of the Salesforce file is a Zip file which you need to Unzip and then load one by one.

Have you done as explained above and still have the problem? Please don't forget to post back the version # that you are using. The last version is 7.3003
