  • Temporary Contact Maximum View State Size Limit

    When I try and review a person with the last name "Smith" who has a generic pre-filled address I get this code:

    Maximum view state size limit (135KB) exceeded. Actual view state size for this page was 137.234KB

    The contact is then stuck in the temporary contact screen and we can't approve it or merge it.

    I'm assuming we just have way to many Smith's but I'm not sure what to do about it!

    Good day!

    Would you please let me know what version you are running?

    We had this issue in prior releases (earlier than 7.2000) that we could duplicate but only randomly- not consistently.

    So please let us know the following:
    • What version you are running?
    • How many contacts do you have in your C&P Temporary Contact tab?

    If you are not running 7.2000 please install the latest release and let us know if you still experience the issue.

      We are still running 7.1 currently so I will update, though due to our radio fundraiser I would preferably wait until next week to update just because I can't afford any hiccups.

      Because email is a required field we have all of our phone volunteers enter "[email protected]" as the email address for anyone who refuses to provide it. I have noticed that it only doesn't work when a person with the last name Smith uses that email address. We have 68 Smiths in our database right now.

      The system looks up all of the people with that address and all of the people with the last name smith. Using demand tools I have been able to get into Salesforce, delete everyone with that email address and then it allows me to process the gift.

      At the time of the approval it was the only person left in the temporary contacts tab.

      I have been able to approve the gift when I use demand tools to delete everyone who uses the generic [email protected] email address on their record so that it is only pulling up the Smith's and not both.

        Good day!

        This explains your issue yesterday with blocked fraud transactions.

        Let us know if you still have an issue with the update. 7.2000 release is an interim release with a couple of new features that did not make it with 7.0 release and we wanted them out prior to 8.0 due out in May.
