Hello,
I am a little confused about the Contact and Account settings.
From what I understand, every donation (opportunity) has to be tied to an account. If this is so, however, why is it that there is a setting to NOT create a new account for new contacts? How can C&P not create a new account if a donation always has to be tied to an account?
Second question: I am reviewing my Accounts tab, and noticed that the account that was created when I made a sample donation does not have an Account Record Type associated with it. Why is this so?
(If it helps at all, my current contact/account setting is one-to-one)
Thank you!
- Lukas
UPDATE:
Please feel free to ignore the second question. I figure this is because at the time I made the sample donation, the only available account record type was "master" (i.e. SF's default record type for accounts). Since then, I have added a number of new, custom account record types.
This does make me wonder, however: when C&P creates a new account when a donation is made, what is the record type of that account?
