Great! I look forward to this too. Payments on existing opportunities is a much better way to manage recurring payments.

Jason,
Version 6.0, due out in February, is currently under development. It has a comprehensive invoicing feature allowing you to create invoices, email invoices, receive payments using invoice forms in Salesforce using Sites pages. This feature will completely answer all issues you are asking for in a pledge system.
The new release will have 7 new features and a series of other minor additional features.

It would also be sweet for this to extend to eVT as well. We have a use case where folks need to pay in installments for some services we provide and we would like to have the opportunities created with future due dates and auto emails sent out with a link to eVT for them to pay their "bill".
Thanks.

Jason,
So based on your suggestion we can do the following:
Contact Record > Opportunities
Add a button that posts the opportunity to the Virtual Terminal (VT)
In the VT:
- Auto-populate the item name with the opportunity name, campaign, unit price, total, etc.
- Auto-populate the contact information
Once the payment method has been selected and transaction processed:
- Associate the existing opportunity with the transaction
Do you consider the above steps summarizes your intended actions?

Make a payment on existing Opportunity
I would like to be able to easily create a new transaction and link it to an existing Opportunity. I have been able to accomplish this manually, by turning off Opportunity Creation on new transactions, entering the transaction then entering the Order Number on the Opportunity. Ideally what I would like to do is add a custom button or custom link to the Opportunity that would auto fill the VT with the amount and description for the Opportunity and the Contact on Opportunity and link the transaction to the Opp. I have attempted to do this using Virtual Terminal Perimeters, but it always creates a new Opportunity no matter what I have selected for cs_os_co and there is no easy way to connect it back to the Opportunity.
Without this, I'm not sure how we can manage pledges and payments on pledges.Tags: None
