  • Salesforce virtual terminal deductible amount required

Is it possible for us to make the Deductible amount required in the virtual terminal, at least for our instance of salesforce, or default it to 100% or something? The problem is that it can be easy to forget to enter the deductible, then the receipt looks bad/wrong to the donor.

    Good day!

We gave your situation a great deal of thought and have decided to do the following:

In the Click & Pledge administrative portal the following fields will be added to the Virtual Terminal Settings.
    • Tax deductible required [checkbox]
    • Default tax deductible: [text box]%
The options will apply to both C&P virtual terminal and Salesforce virtual terminal.

This approach will give the most flexibility by allowing organizations to make tax deductible field a required field with or without a default value. If tax deductible is made required then the system will issue a warning if the tax deductible field is left blank. Assigning a default value will not generate a warning and minimizes user interaction.

Let us know if you have any thoughts on this approach. Please give us a little time so we implement this feature since it involves changes to the Portal & the Salesforce VT.

Similar to this issue...the First Name field is required in the Virtual Terminal, however not all of our contacts have that field filled in (company names are listed in the Last Name field with First Name left blank). So when a transaction for a contact with no first name is pre-populated , it won't let us save it. Any way to make First Name not required?

          Good day!

We have a challenge with this request as the Virtual Terminal is set to process payments by credit cards and credit cards always have a name. Gateways require a first name and last name for eCommerce transactions.

What payment type are you using for these transactions? Perhaps we can figure out a way to offer this when payments are not by credit cards.

This happens when we are entering payments by check, but want to be sure the donor gets the automatic email receipt.
