  • Suggestions from a client regarding Connect report filters

We received the following requests for feature additions from a client of ours:

"Thank you so much – having the Campaign URL Alias is working like a charm!! Many thanks!

Now of course, we have two more requests:

    1. Filter – can the Campaign Start and End dates be added as separate filters? Or a date range for Campaign Start and End dates?

    o End Dates:
§ Right now we have 31 campaigns created and there’s another 17 requests that have been received – so by Friday – we should have at least 50 campaigns active
§ As the camps run all summer – we are closing campaigns 4 weeks before the camp start date so Accounting can reconcile the funds raised for each camp site
§ Being able to filter the campaign close date will let Accounting do the reconciliation much quicker than trying to filter by each camp code (which is the campaign URL alias)
    o Start Dates:
§ I want to be able to analyze the feasibility of having campaigns launched before the new calendar year starts; did camps who had a campaign page for longer periods raise more money?

    2. Listing of all active campaigns created

o I’ve been trying to keep track by Region Code (example: PA07 – is Central/Western PA and PA46 is Eastern PA)
o I’ve giving this information over to our VP of Programs so she can see who is utilizing C&P
o It looks like all the reports are based on transactions only"

Please consider her requests and if any of this is possible, I'll be happy to communicate the outcome to her.

Thank you so much for your help.

Any update on this? I have a client still concerned about this particular issue, following up with her second request for this to be looked at. Any guidance is appreciated. Thank you.

      Good day bigpinkbug

We have reviewed the request and we have them in the road map. We cannot possibly provide any ETA's on these requests.

Every single request is received by our team and we add them to the product releases. Currently there are a number of features that are part of the next update and then a code freeze prior to release 3.0. Some of these will be considered at that time.

Sorry that we cannot be more concise.

Perfect. I understand that updates have to come in batches (releases) not a la carte.

I have one follow up question from the client: Has a report field option been suggested to include "Anonymous" to show only anonymous donors within the report in the next big release?

Thank you again for answering all of my client's questions thus far. It is greatly appreciated.

We can add that as a Feature Request. Although I would like to clarify that the 'Anonymous' option that is specified on the transaction in the Comments section of the Transaction is intended for the Comments feed in the Peer-to-Peer fundraising public campaign page, and it's an option that is made available to the Patron for when they make a donation so that they can opt to have their name displayed as 'anonymous' when it shows up in the campaign's Live Stream. It was not intended for the nonprofit to use to define whether other references to the donation, e.g. in a printed newsletter.

That is up to how your organization wants to create your business process- you can either use the checkbox on the transaction for that purpose, and your staff would need to know that they would need to go into the transaction record to modify that property and that it will affect the publicly displayed feed on that campaign. Or set up a custom question for the Donor to suggest their preference for other marketing materials the organization distributes.

Also- it is a feature of the transaction, not the Patron, so it will not influence how the anonymous setting is set the next time the Patron makes a donation.
