  • Use an ID # for Custom Questions to match to SalesForce

If I understand things correctly, getting information from CnP to SF works by creating a field in Opportunities in SF with the same name as the question in CnP. If my custom question is "First Name" then I must use that same text in SF to create the matching relationship. The problem I see with this approach is that a minor grammatical change in the CnP custom question requires me to make the same change in SF. This could be fraught with opportunities to be overlooked or introducing errors. If the custom question had a simple ID# that would match to a created field in SF, then language changes would have little if any effect. This would be very important in situations where the custom question was a long sentence.

But perhaps I'm unclear on the process of matching CnP data to SF for custom questions.

    Good day @Chris Altwegg

In Custom Question Mapping, it is NOT necessary to match the text of the field in SF but the Custom Question should match exactly (under Custom Question Mapping) what it is in C&P Data/Donation Form. Once it matched, it will simply map the answer to the field which you have selected.

Hope that makes sense. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
