  • PaaS - New C&P Opportunity Pledge

    We often receive C&P transactions which are not associated correctly with a contact's Pledge (either due to the donor selecting the wrong fund, or the pledge has ended, but we receive a physical check that was dated prior to the end of their pledge).

    When we go into the opportunity and create a "New C&P Opportunity Pledge", we find that the C&P Pledge does not automatically re-calculate the remaining/excess balance, and therefore the remaining balance is incorrect until the donor makes their next payment (see attached).

    Good day @ESowers,

    How are you making the payment? Are you not using "Make a Payment" option in the Pledge? If you use that and use custom payment type all should work as you expect.

      This is for payments that have already been made (we do 20-30 entries via the VT a day, so there's often times mistakes that are made). The cnp transaction and opportunities exist, but for whatever reason they were not associated with the pledge. Therefore we need to manually associate the opportunity to the pledge and go through the process of manually creating the CnP opportunity pledge record.

        Good day!

        Pledge is designed to track payments made towards the pledge following the conditions associated with Pledge. If you have existing opportunities they cannot be associated with the pledge as the Pledge ID is not associated with that opportunity.

        If you wish to use the feature then payments need to be made using the "Make a Payment" feature on the Pledge. An existing payment cannot be associated with an existing pledge- at least not at this time. We will consider adding the feature in the next release.

          Was this feature added to be able to associate an existing opportunity with a pledge?
