Feature Request - Recurring Pledges

We create pledges on a yearly basis (though some pledges come in mid-year). On the end date of that pledge we automatically renew the pledge unless the contact has told us that they would not like to renew. This helps our finance department in the budgeting process.

It would be awesome if we could set CnP Pledge records to automatically renew unless a "Do Not Renew" checkbox is selected.

When it renews it would take the original pledge timeframe and set it for a year out. (ex a pledge from 1/1/2015 to 12/31/2015 would be renewed as 1/1/2016 to 12/31/2016).

What form are you using?

This is what is referred to the indefinite recurring. No end date and it will automatically run until cancelled.

By "what form" do you mean which system?? We are using the C&P pledges within the C&P PaaS system in Salesforce.

Indefinite recurring is great, however we use the pledge remaining/excess balance amount to reflect it back to the Contact so they know how much is remaining on their pledge. For example, a contact makes a yearly pledge of $1,000, and they send in gifts throughout the year in order to pay down that pledge. At the end of the year (when that pledge expires) we then re-create the pledge for $1,000 and they work toward paying it down again.

Each time they make a pledge payment we tell them how much is remaining on their pledge. The problem I see with indefinite recurring is that we can't then set that goal for them to meet.

I guess an alternative would be a "Clone" button on the pledge record. That way we could manually clone the pledge.

A clone could work. I will add it to the feature request list and see what we can do.
