Preauth event registrations

I would love to see a way to register for an event with a future date, credit card preauthorization. I usually need to do a couple event sponsorships this way and end up doing the preauth through the Virtual Terminal, then creating the registration separately through the event box office. I would prefer to be able to do both at the same time.

Yes, as part of the box office would be useful.

It would be lovely to have in on the public-facing registration page too, but that would probably just cause too much end user confusion.
